Perennials Rug Contest: Meet the Top 5
Now that public voting for our Perennials 25th Anniversary Rug Contest has closed, it is time to introduce the faces behind the Top 5 designs. These creatives’ designs blew away our panel of judges, and we are honored to feature their work.
Petals by Margarita Vrolijk
Margarita is a yacht designer from Germany! She was inspired by flower petals. The Perennials team loved the simplistic elegance of her design.
Sidewalk by Judy Lo
Judy found her passion for design through a lifelong fondness of travel. She spends much of her time roaming the paths and alleys a city offers. She is in awe of the intricate evolution of the cityscape, detail and formation of construction. In 2001, she moved to California to pursue a degree in Interior Design. She graduated in 2006 and has since worked for multiple hospitality design firms, and now currently works for EDG Interior Architecture + Design.
Broken Pottery by Andres Suarez
Andres is a product and communication designer, graduating from University of the Andes in Colombia, with a Masters in Interior Design & Living from the Domus Academy in Milan, Italy. He is currently the Brand Ambassador for a high-end illumination planning studio and lighting fixture brand called Apure-Architectural Lighting.
Border by Sean Cowan
Based in Chicago, Sean Cowan founded Sean Michael Design in 2007 with a mission to create sophisticated, modern environments that are livable, enduring and authentic in every sense. With an accomplished eye and informal approach to the design process, he collaborates with his clients to create spaces that are truly personal.
Off the Grid by Georgia Collett
Georgia was born in London, England. She studied Fashion design at Central St Martins, going on to gain a MA in Textile design from the Royal College of Art in 2010. She spent several years working as a textile designer gaining experience in the fashion industry. In 2013, Georgia joined Collett Zarzycki as a design assistant, graduating to director in 2020. She remains passionate about textiles, and has designed many rugs for her clients over the years.
